Audiobook Preorders and Book Box Raffle!
The only time I send three emails in one week. I promise.

DEAR READERS,
The audiobook preorders for The Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lion are live!
How exciting! (I’m sure you saw the announcement yesterday of both narrator and director.)
The first two volumes will be released on August 14th, and will be available across all major audiobook platforms.
Here are some preorder links for your convenience.
Audible (Audible books are usually purchased with prepaid credits, which is why audible sets the price where it is for the preorders. If you have audible credits, you can use them to pick up the Emma M. Lion audiobooks. If you don’t, you will find a great price at Apple Books or elsewhere.)
Libro.fm (Each purchase generates revenue for indy bookstores.)
OverDrive (OverDrive is for our stalwart librarians. Be sure to mention that the Emma M. Lion books are coming to audiobook so they can order it for your library!)
WOULD YOU LIKE to hear about the Rhysdon Press book box raffle for the audiobook preorders?
The Rhysdon Press AUDIOBOOK CELEBRATION BOOK BOXES
HERE IS THE PLAN. Rhysdon Press is putting together a Book Box for all eight audiobooks. There will be Eight Boxes in total, one for each book.
Upon the release of each audiobook, we will draw a name from among the preorders for that volume and send the Book Box to the lucky reader.
As for what each Audiobook Celebration Book Box contains?
That, my friends, is a surprise. But here are the details I can share—each of the 8 boxes contain certain items in common, and then every box will have two to three things exclusive to that particular volume of Emma M. Lion.
We are having fun putting together the boxes and hope the eight lucky readers will enjoy receiving them.
As for how you enter the raffle? Click HERE and follow the instructions.
As a reminder, the release schedule is as follows:
Vols. 1 & 2 August 14th
Vol. 3 August 28th
Vol. 4 September 11th
Vol. 5 September 25th
Vol. 6. October 9th
Vol. 7 October 23rd
Vol. 8 November 6th
Vol. 9 Well, I’m writing that now. Grin.
All the best,
x Beth
I would like to mention some things about Libro.fm:
1. You can choose which specific indie bookstore you would like to support when you create an account.
2. Libro also has credits, which are $15 each. If you sign up for a new monthly membership, you get two bonus credits. But you can buy credits without an active subscription. (Not all titles are available to buy with credits, but all the ‘Emma M. Lion’ books are. In my experience, over 95% of titles on Libro can be bought with credits.)
3. Audiobooks from Libro are DRM free, and (to my knowledge) is the only digital audiobook retailer that is DRM free.
For those unaware, audiobooks—as well as eBooks—from retailers like Audible or Barnes & Noble have Digital Rights Management (DRM) restrictions. This means that they retain the rights to the audiobooks and can revoke your access to them at any time if they so choose, even though they make it appear as if you “purchased” them. Plus you can only access the titles you buy through their proprietary platform(s).
Libro is DRM free, which means that you actually own the audiobook. You can access your purchases through their free app, but you can also download the actual audio files from their website and listen to them wherever you like—even share them with someone else. This means that even if a title for some reason in the future is no longer available to buy on Libro, you still own the book you purchased and have access to it.
I’ve personally been using Libro for a couple of years and will never be going back to anything else. Not only do you actually own the thing you purchase, you get to support indie bookstores, with the added bonus of supporting a company that is 100% employee owned and a Social Purpose Corporation, which means they pursue social justice initiatives—such as fighting book bans—even if it’s in conflict with the corporation’s financial interests.
I'm a collection development public librarian and can confirm they are LIVE in Overdrive! I mean, I wish they weren't $85, but I will sacrifice all of my James Patterson digital copies for Emma, Hawkes, Pierce, and Islington.
